Our Farm

Kentucky Ridgeback Kennel is located outside Stanford, Kentucky, on 110 acres of beautiful rolling farmland. There is a running stream, two spring fed ponds and lots of running areas. We have a 900 square foot kennel area on concrete, one half acre fenced playground for our dogs' relaxation and exercise, and a building with heat lamps for whelping. We rotate every breeding dog through our home every week for an evening and night or more, so they really are part of our family and are well socialized.

We are breeding AKC registered Rhodesian Ridgebacks exclusively. Puppies are raised in our home and farm, are exposed to our children and are handled with love on a daily basis. Socialized and friendly, they are ready to begin life with you as their new family.

Our Philosophy

The best dog is not only happy and integrated into your family, but is healthy. Our dogs are fed Canidae All Life Stages food, and we utilize pigskins for chewing and tooth maintenance. Calcium tablets are regularly supplemented through age one. Regular vaccinations and worming by schedule are rigorously administered.

We do NOT breed our dams until they have reached maturity, two years of age. We do not breed any animal until they have passed OFA and CERF standards. We go further and have them examined for and certified dermoid sinus, and cardiac disease free. We test for blood, thyroid and other disease states. We DNA register all our animals with AKC and OFA. All of our sires and dams are OFA and CERF certified as well as no tail crooks, and dew-claws removed. All documentation will be available for your inspection.

We are pleased to provide a TWO-YEAR GENETIC GUARANTEE with every dog. Should they develop ANY genetic problems we will cheerfully replace the animal or return your money.

Breeding is a long process, if it is done right. A bitch must be mature to produce a fine litter. A stud must have the proper personality. Many will just take any animal they can find and use them. We will not breed any animal which we feel through temperament, conformity, genetics, training, breed standards or any other fault is not up to the highest standards ANYWHERE.
